The occasional food post

This blog started as a travel/food journal, although in the last year it's been hijacked by a certain small person. I will, however, try to include the occasional post about the many great snacks and meals we enjoy along the way.

One of the great things about being back in the US at the height of summer - especially in California - was that the farmers' markets were bursting with fantastic produce.


Unfortunately I didn't get photos of the fruit - baskets of blueberries and strawberries, piles of peaches, nectarines, "pluots" (plum-apricot blend), and even "plurins" (plum-nectarines). We brought a few things back, and the day after we returned to Swaziland, we ate the last perfectly ripe, fragrant white peach. We're already looking forward to next summer's visit!
