One of the great things about being back in the US at the height of summer - especially in California - was that the farmers' markets were bursting with fantastic produce.



Unfortunately I didn't get photos of the fruit - baskets of blueberries and strawberries, piles of peaches, nectarines, "pluots" (plum-apricot blend), and even "plurins" (plum-nectarines). We brought a few things back, and the day after we returned to Swaziland, we ate the last perfectly ripe, fragrant white peach. We're already looking forward to next summer's visit!
