Taiwan - Chung Li

In the afternoon of March 2, we continued onto my father's childhood home in Chung Li.  It is a very traditional home, with a square courtyard surrounded by three wings of the same building.

Inside there are portraits of my great-grandparents (my father's father's parents.)

And a plaque with many names of male descendants (at least that's what I think it was!)

Much of the furniture there has been there for three generations.

I loved the traditional wooden beds.

My dad's cousin let us in and showed us around.

Aviva and Charlotte played in the courtyard.

Afterward we went to another temple.

Aviva enjoyed touching the various statues (and other things she probably wasn't supposed to touch.)

There was a performing dog, which Aviva had fun feeding.

We had a great day out and headed back to Taipei to rest up for our big trip.  Later that night, Aviva played with our family friend and host, John.
