Departure and Arrival

We're here!

Actually we've been here since Saturday afternoon. For those that haven't heard it already, a quick recap on our last few days:

On Thursday morning, the car service arrived on time, and our driver loaded our five large bags into a gigantic Lincoln Town Car. We said goodbye to our hosts, Jeff, Brianne, Seamus, and Jake, and then we were off!

Or so we thought. As were about to get into the car, the driver glared at us and said, "Your bags are too heavy," and pointed to a flat tire (the left rear one). He was on the phone, asking his dispatch for another car, until Peter suggested that they change the tire.

So all the bags came back out.
There was a lot of grunting, and huffing, and puffing...

But after 20 minutes, they had done it! (A Liberian driver would have just changed the tire without breaking a sweat or whining, but alas.) And we were off to JFK.

On Friday night at 5:30 PM, we stepped into glorious, warm, summer weather. Hooray!
