Earlier this year, a colleague of Peter's from CDC - Atlanta came to stay in Swaziland for a long-term project. We were so lucky to get to spend time with her and get to know her. She housesat for us while we were away, so Mao got to know her, too! Rebecca was excellent at entertaining Aviva, and introduced Aviva to what is now one of her favorite snacks: Goldfish crackers! In fact, they became a favorite snack of many of Aviva's friends.
Because Aviva has another friend, age 4, named Rebecca, the one below became known very affectionately at our house as "Big Rebecca." She is not, actually, "big," except to a certain three year-old.
Eventually Rebecca had to go back to the US, and we missed her terribly. Now she is off doing her PhD somewhere, and we look forward to the day when we can get together again over beer and Goldfish.
